The "Antique Postman's Desk" of 1999
In 1999 Schmidt Cabinet Company celebrated their 40th anniversary. In honor of this occasion, we built a replica of an "Antique Postman's Desk." We only built 40 desks and each desk is numbered with a gold plate. We put a modest price of $750 on the units and they sold out in 7 days. In 2004 one of the desks sold for $3500.00; not a bad investment. We have had many requests to build more of these desks, but we will not build them again.
Our 50th anniversary will be in April 2009. We haven't decided what piece of furniture we will be making, but we guarantee you will love it. Once again, it will be priced modestly and they will go quickly! If you would like to put your name on the list of potential buyers, please email us.
